I felt really called to share this today because so much of what is portrayed in the online business world is how glorious it is to be an entrepreneur, set your own schedule, and be your own boss…
And yes, it feels SO good and fulfilling to run your own successful business… I wouldn’t change it for the world.
BUT, sometimes doing things differently than your friends and family, or not having co-workers, or people who “get it” in your daily life can feel a little lonely at times.
Today I am sharing 3 simple steps you can take today to feel less isolated or alone as an entrepreneur so that you can LOVE your work and feel connected to others at the same time.
I also share about my own journey recently navigating a second pregnancy (with a one-year-old) while feeling low, and how I was able to use some of these techniques to turn it around and get inspired, excited, and turned-on in my biz again!
3 simple steps you can take today to feel less isolated:
Step 1: Build your tribe of entrepreneurs
Oftentimes our friends, family, and even our partners just don’t “get it” when we are spending hours in front of the computer building our dream, and it can be hard to relate to or justify our decisions.
So surrounding yourself with other entrepreneurs that you can call and celebrate with or commiserate with is SO important.
I’ve met some of my “business besties” in masterminds and business coaching groups. I’m also really lucky to have two longtime friends who are also entrepreneurs that I can call on to be super vulnerable with, PLUS get some really solid business advice from.
If you don’t have at least a couple of people like this in your world, I highly suggest putting the time in to make those authentic connections. There are lots of ways to meet people and we’ll talk about that in a minute!
Step 2: Create your own community!
Adding a community component to your group programs or even bringing your one-on-one people together and having a virtual or in-person meet up is an amazing way to build your network and give back to your community.
Step 3: Join a mastermind, business building group, or other sisterhood
Often WE are the ones holding space for others or figuring it all out, but it feels SO good when you can have others hold space for you and give you the insights needed to shortcut your path. Being held in a group program, or mastermind, is a great way to find friends for life and be held and supported by a mentor AND share your voice and your experience and expertise. I recently joined a mastermind with other women playing at a high-level and it was a huge boost, and I will be offering a mastermind for my community in the coming months, so definitely keep an eye out for that!
Also, of course, I LOVE our Aligned Female Entrepreneur business accelerator course + community that is currently enrolling! I’m curious which of the 3 above most resonate for you?
