This is a super easy sauce that’s ready in about 5 minutes. It tastes great on a pizza or warmed up over pasta. Like a smoother sauce? No problem! Feel free to give it a spin in the food processor to even out the texture.

The great thing about making your own pizza sauce is that it is fast, cheap, and you can make it taste great with out lots of added oil. I love spreading this sauce on my gluten-free cauliflower pizza crust for fun and healthy pizza night. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 28 oz can diced tomatoes, drained

2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

2 tablespoon good quality olive oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

a few cranks of fresh-ground pepper

1 teaspoon maple syrup

1 clove fresh garlic, crushed

Optional: 2 tablespoons Parmesan or Romano cheese (this will of course will take away it’s “dairy-free” status, but it gives it a nice flavor)

Directions:

Open and drain the tomatoes and place in a medium-sized bowl (reserve the juice to freeze and save for soups and sauces). Place all ingredients into the bowl and stir. Let it sit for 10 minutes (if you have the time) to let the flavors combine. Spread over a pizza shell (try this gluten-free cauliflower crust!) and sprinkle with cheese or your favorite veggies… or both!
