I was skeptical about making another failed commitment to weight loss after trying unsuccessfully to lose weight for many years. The biggest change was a shift in my thinking around food and eating patterns throughout my life. I am gentler with myself and am more reflective about why I am engaging in behaviors versus shaming or belittling myself. My awareness of the food I put into my mouth is one of the biggest changes I’ve noticed – do I enjoy what I’m eating? Is this what my body needs? When I love the food I eat, I notice a big difference in how I feel, how my body responds and other food choices throughout the day align better to my overall health goals.
